Fantastic Beasts – Book Review

Hi Guys! Sorry for not posting in a while, I have just been really busy with getting organised to start university and working. In this post, I will be giving my opinions on the two Fantastic Beasts screenplays that have been released so far by J.K. Rowling.

So background information about my reading experience while reading both screenplays. I read both screenplays, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald before watching the respective films. I personally enjoyed the second screenplay and film more than the first one. The hardcover version of these screenplays are very pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Both of the films pretty much follow the screenplays exactly and not much is added to the story.

The first screenplay is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling. I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars. This story is about the same magical universe for J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter series except that its is now set in America not Europe and occurs before the Harry Potter series. I found it a little slow in some parts but I think that is due to all the world building and character development. This book did take me a couple of days to read which I think could be because I was in a reading slump while reading this.

The second screenplay is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald by J.K. Rowling. I gave this screenplay a 5 out of 5 stars. Many people who read this book or even just watched the film did not like it or liked the first one better. A lot does happen in a very short space of time which can make it a little confusing. Another reason why it may be confusing is that it follows many different characters that are at different places at the same time.

Thanks for reading my post. Remember to like this post and follow my blog to stay up to date on my content.

Keep Reading, Tara.
